Welcome to My Blog
Hello! I am Kevin A. McCabe, a professor of Economics, Law, and Neuroscience at George Mason University. I am thrilled to share my academic journey, research interests, and insights in the fields of economic theory and experiments as well as market design and blockchains with you.
A Bit About My Background
I received my PhD in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. With an extensive background in economics, I have dedicated my career to exploring how theory, computational models, and experiments can be used to study the organization and design of market institutions. My research primarily focuses on the design of systems that facilitate the exchange of goods and services. This research has led to an appreciation of the interaction between the decentralized computations of our embodied brains with the myriad computations performed by institutions to allow the economic possibilities we enjoy today. But I also believe we can do better, and by applying innovative approaches to understanding markets, we can build even better more inclusive markets in the future.
My Interest in Blockchains
In addition to market design, I am passionate about the transformative potential of blockchains. This technology extends beyond cryptocurrency; it has the power to fundamentally reshape various industries by providing transparency and security in transactions. I am actively exploring the intersection of market design and blockchains, aiming to contribute to this evolving field with practical insights.
